Sam Seiden confirmed key speaker at ITC 2008

I'm glad to announce you that Sam Seiden has just been confirmed as key speaker at our International Traders Conference (ITC 2008) of October.

As the other confirmed speakers, he will present a key speech and be team leader of the Live Trading Sessions

Sam Seiden brings over 15 years experience of equities and futures trading which began when he was on the floor of the Chicago Mercantile Exchange. He has traded equities, futures, interest rate markets, forex, options, and commodities for his personal interests for years and has educated hundreds of traders and investors through seminars and daily advisory services both domestically and internationally.
Sam has been involved in the markets since 1991 both on and off the floor of the Chicago Mercantile Exchange. He has served as the Director of Technical Research for two trading firms and regularly contributes articles to industry publications. Sam is known for his trading, technical research, and educational guidance.

Sam's method is based on these principles: "In trading, you get paid when others do what you do, after you do it. Sam's method is based on market principles that have stood the test of time. This method quantifies the supply / demand and human behavior relationship that exists in any marketplace. This relationship is ultimately what determines price. Knowing this allows you to enter trades at the right time so you get paid when others follow."

Sam regularly holds webinars at FXstreet.com and is among our most followed speakers. The recordings of his sessions are maybe the most successful too (you will find these videos listed on his contributor's profile page). Sam is an excellent educator and I'm sure that ITC attendees will learn a lot from him!

Feedback ITC2007

Hi everyone,

Maud just sent me a very nice e-mail she got from an ITC2007 attendee Mr. Pittas. Maud got this e-mail from Mr. Pittas because she contacted him to get his authorization to use an ITC2007's picture where Mr. Pittas was appearing.

We were so happy with his feed-back that I asked Maud to get his authorization to publish it.

So here you have what Mr. Pittas told Maud:

Hi Maud!

I hope  you are fine. please use the photo as you wish, i have not any objection. Nice photo indeed, I took permission to correct it a little bit (noise, blacks etc), if you don't mind.

The ITC '07 was  important to me and let me say why: In these 3 days I was really motivated to take forex trading seriously and not lose money foolishly anymore. Since then, and after six months of labour and research, I have my little personnal success story, narrated in this http://forexbird.blogspot.com/, where I record the good and the bad every day.

Hope that this could help you or any friend in fxstreet!

ITC 2008 - Barcelona October 29th to 31st... Book the dates in your agenda!

Hi everyone

It is official, FXstreet's ITC 2008 will be held in Barcelona (Spain) from Wednesday October 29th to Friday October 31st.

One of the big differences with ITC 2007 is that this year we are going for a 3 working days event instead of a 2 working days plus a Saturday. The reasons to justify this change are:

1. To make more live trading. Live trading was key last year so with that move we will have 3 days of live trading. Live trading sessions will be on Wednesday afternoon and on Thursday and Friday morning, in order to take advantage of higher volatility in morning Europe.

2. To have a big closing party on Friday night and then let you all enjoy Barcelona's fiesta in late hours :)

3. To let you have Saturday (or the whole weekend) free to enjoy around before taking your plane back.

I hope this important change will be for good :)

The venue will be at Barceló Atenea Mar, a new 4 stars hotel located in front of Barcelona's Mar Bella beach.

The hotel gathers all our requests of high speed internet connection (an important point), wide rooms with natural light and space. Also, the hotel's rooms are more affordable than other hotels downtown, so we thought that this could be good news for attendees too.

The Barceló Atenea Mar has a subway stop nearby so the downtown is only at 5 stops. For the size of the city of Barcelona, this is not more than 10/15 minutes!

The place is beautiful .... Definitely, a great venue :)

Book the dates in your agenda and wait to hear from confirmed speakers before committing to attend.

ITC2007 short videos already available

Hi everyone

My people sent me a link that contains a couple of videos they have put together with views from attendees, speakers and FXstreet's staff about the past ITC2007.

The person in charge of making such videos wanted to know our opinion before displaying them on FXstreet.com site.

I personally liked what I saw - except myself, the worst English I´ve seen in years!!! - but I thought maybe you could give us your opinion so here you have the link.

http://www.traders-conference.com/resources-2007.aspx

If you have some spare time during the next few days come along and view Dianne, Ray or Gonçalo giving their views about the event the attended and I hope it will help you decide to come to Barcelona next October to attend ITC2008.

Happy eastern

Barcelona's ITC October 2008 Prices

Hi everyone

Yesterday I announced here in my blog that we have finally decided to organize the ITC, our International Trading Conference, this year in BARCELONA again.

In the post I said: "... price range will move from €450 (for attendees of the ITC 2007) to €850 (ITC 08 fee + one year of Premium Membership)."

With that I didn’t mean that those that didn’t come last year will have to pay €850. I just was talking about the price range we had settled for 2008 in order to make break even.

We want to keep the ITC as a first class event, with best speakers, best hospitality and best educational model and at the same time we want to keep it affordable for all of you.

We didn’t want to give away yet prices as they could suffer small changes, but I’m daring to offer them here already for you:

ITC 2008 Prices
ITC07 Attendees: €450
ITC08 Early Bird Discount: €500
Price for Premium Members: €500
Price for FXstreet's Visitors: €700
Special Offer: ITC2008 + 1 year Premium Service €850

I hope everything is clear now :)

ITC October 2008 - Barcelona!

Hi everyone,

After considering many different options - we wanted to move ITC to London -, we finally decided to organize the ITC, our International Trading Conference, this year in BARCELONA again.

Behind this decision, the fact that this is FXstreet.com headquarters city, the lower costs, the originality of the location (and for sure the exoticism for some of you!), the know-how we have acquired etc.

We won't change much the model of last year's conference since feedback was excellent, but we will incorporate some of your suggestions as:

1. The ITC will be held during 3 working days (Wed- Fri) in October 2008 and will include speeches and live trading sessions as last year.

Speakers are not decided yet, but you'll meet some of our regular collaborators and top experts of the market.

2. Live trading will be moved to mornings to take advantage of the higher activity of the market especially when it overlaps with US open

Unfortunately, fees will not be as low as last year's.... but will surely stay attractive!

ITC 2007 was our first event and we had to test our capacity to organize something like this and the capacity of Barcelona to attract traders from all over the world.

The event was a success, but its numbers were much in red. This year our goal is to make break-even and later to come to make it profitable... even if ITC's profitability is not an issue as our main goal is meeting our visitors once a year and having a great time all together.

This time we will offer different fee options as we did in 2007, but price range will move from €450 (for attendees of the ITC 2007) to €850 (ITC 08 fee + one year of Premium Membership).
Prices include entrance, speeches material, lunches and coffees.

I will keep you posted... much details need to be confirmed, but I just was excited to announce you that!

Don't miss our 2008 event!

Francesc

Note: If you follow my blog you know that we also wanted to organize a FX B2B Event in London. We have contacted many players of the FX industry to get their opinion about the utility of such event.

All data gathered so far is confirming that is a worth to take bet, but we still need to gather a lot of information before taking a final decision.

I’ll keep you posted

Hi everyone,

After a very bad and busy week I had the pleasure to send belows e-mail to many of our collaborators, providers, clients and friends.

If you are a professional/company interested in this event, please do not hesitate to let me know

Francesc

Hi ----,

FXstreet.com will organize a B2B FX event in London/Barcelona in October 2008.

We would like to know if:

- you are interested in attending the event and/or presenting your company's products or services

- which other professionals you would like to meet

Your comments or proposals are also very welcome. Thank you!

I hope to hear from you soon.

ITC 2008 Feed-back from Ron Schelling

Hi everybody

I just got an excellent feed-back from my friend Ron Schelling. Ron was a speaker of ITC 2007 and owns  2hedge.com, a company with high expertise in arbitrage and  hedging.

I hope Ron don´t mind I´m publishing here his comments as I found them very useful in order to take a decision of the right location of our 2008 ITC's.

Thanks Ron!

Francesc

Hello Francesc,

I just saw your question about the next ITC.

There are enough FX shows in the USA.
Las Vegas sounds not for the profesional people, just a big money show.
In case you consider the USA my advice is New York.
I was on several such shows/seminars and still the best was in NY.
Only the cold weather was a negative as the major show is in February.

To reach the Americans think about Toronto or even Miami.
Vegas are mainly visited by private traders.
The websites and services of US companies are much different then FXStreet
as they look to close to there own country.
FXStreet shows a more global view.

London is I think the best choice.
You see the more profesional people there, but's expensive too.
People travel half the world to be in the major financial center.

My major choice actually is Barcelona again !
It's more relexed, more friendly and things goes in an easy way.
FXStreet means also Spain, good weather a relexed and interesting seminar.

Best regards,
Ron

ITC 2008....Barcelona and/or London, New York or Vegas?

Hi everybody

It is time for me to take a decision about where we should run the 2nd edition of FXstreet's ITC.

The International Traders Conference 2007 was a success to we know for sure that there will be an ITC 2008.

It seems that Barcelona is going to hold again ITC next year either in October as this year or in May. What we must decide is if we should go for a second ITC 2008 this next year or not.

I wanted that second location to be New York, but my friend Merlin Jeffries from Forex Factory recommended me to go for Vegas in case of bringing ITC 2008 to the US.

The other location being considered is London.

Either London or the US edition should also have to come along a 2 days B2B (business to business) FX event prior the ITC. The idea is to gather all FX industry's participants under one roof for a couple of days and discuss about the market, to announce new products or service and make business meeting with software developers, strategist, money managers, fund managers....

My question is: London or US?

In case of US, where NY or Vegas?

I´ll appreciate your feed back

Good bye to ITC 2007

Hi everyone

On Saturday we officially closed FXstreet’s 1st International Traders Conference with a party in a bar at Barcelona’s beach.

In view of all feed-back received, it seems we made a quite a good job and attendees had a great time as well as speakers.

I’ve been reviewing the anonymous feed-back we got from attendees before closing the event, and it seems we really succeed in meeting the 3 goals we set up when we decided to move forward this initiative:

1. ITC was a great learning experience. Many told us that the ITC had helped to improve as FX traders.
2. ITC was a great human experience. Almost all attendees agreed that they felt like belonging to a family while they were with us and that they made good friends during the event.
3. Attendees enjoyed the city of Barcelona.

As FXstreet’s CEO I’m very happy that all went well and I just want to thank again everyone that attended the event for coming all the way to Barcelona to spend a few days with us and to thank again Rob Booker, Wayne McDonell, Andrew Hart, Nicole Elliot, Ron Schelling, Joseph Trevisani and Toni Juste for being with us for 3 long days and sharing with us their market expertise.

See you all next year… soon we will announce where and when ITC 2008 will take place.

Stefan Minkov from Trading Educators attending ITC 2007

Hi everybody,

Some more good news coming in.

Stefan Minkov has confirmed his presence during the International Traders Conference next week in Barcelona.
Stefan is Joe Ross’s Trading Educators representative in Spain. He trades his own account mostly in futures options at CME, CBOT and NYMEX.
He likes to trade futures options (EC, GC, and ZB) because he likes the idea of having a predetermined risk calculation. He uses point and figure charts because he likes the clear signals they give, and Joe's "Law of Charts" shows up well in them. Stefan has lived in Barcelona for seven years now, and he speaks German, English, Spanish, and Catalan.

You can visit his point and figure site at:

http://www.pointandfigure.net

Or visit Trading Educators site at:

See you next week Stefan!

40 paid registered attendees coming to Barcelona ITC 2007

Hi everybody,

Goal accomplished!

Yesterday Jose Gabriel from Spain paid his entrance to FXstreet’s ITC 2007 and became the 40th confirmed attendee.

When Ed Ponsi and Raghee Horner communicated us a few weeks ago that they will not attend ITC’s, we contacted registered members to let them know about it and gave them the opportunity to withdraw from ITC refunding them the fee they had paid except 10 euros to pay bank’s transfer fees.
4 paid attendees contacted us to withdraw so from 39 paid members we went down to 35.

Fortunately since then, 5 guys have registered and yesterday we reached the magic number of 40 attendees.

I’m very happy we have been able to meet our goal and I just hope now that the event will be a success.

At this time, countries competition is lead by UK and Spain with 6 attendees, followed by the US and Portugal with 4.

Attendees are coming from 16 countries, most of them from Europe but worth to highlight those coming from the US, Australia and Dubai.

Spain    6

US    4
Portugal    4

Rob Booker Seminar in Barcelona before the ITC, Oct 22-24

Hi everybody

As you all know Rob Booker is going to come to Barcelona to be a key speaker at FXstreet.com's 1st International Traders Conference.

ITC will go from October 25th to 27th.

In a very smart move – I must admit it! – Rob scheduled a small seminar for a group of 5 students from October 22nd to 24th in order to get the most from his days in Barcelona.

I offered Rob the possibility to stop by the seminar to say hi to his students and have a chat with them about whatever they want and Rob kindly accepted, so I’m just waiting now for Rob's confirmation about date and place and I’ll be there.

Let’s see if I do not forget to bring my camera with me and throw some pictures of the meeting and upload them here.

See you in Barcelona Rob!

Strong frontline of speakers at the ITC 2007

Hi everybody

I got today a very nice e-mail from one of ITC 2007's attendees. This e-mail was in response of the e-mail I sent to all 38 paid registered members by then to let them know that Ed Ponsi and Raghee Horner will not be with us in October.

Here you have Gary's e-mail:

Francesc,
It's sad to know that Ed and Raghee are not coming. However, I belive the event will be a memorable one due your enthusiam to make it successful. Although meeting with many famous traders in 3 days is great, spending more quality time with a smaller number of traders is not too bad as well. Having said that, I just wonder if you ever cosider asking Nicole Elliot or other exisitng speakers to expand their role in the event instead of just trying to find more speakers. regards,

gary

My answer to Gary's e-mail was:

Dear Gary

We are consider such possibility indeed. I think we have a strong frontline of speakers and it could be wise to expand their role on the event as you said. We must ask them for their approval but it is something considered indeed thanks for your great feed-back

I think Gary had a point and this issue is being considered at FXstreet.com

I just wanted to share this interesting conversation I had with Gary with all of you my blog's readers

Ed Ponsi and Raghee Horner's last minute withdrawal from ITC 2007

Hi everybody,

More news about the ITC... this time I am quite sad to have to announce you that Raghee Horner and Ed Ponsi won't be able to come in Barcelona in next October.

Both were guest speakers of our conference but they have last minute and unexpected obstacles. They tried everything to find a solution but they unfortunately can't make it.

Ed Ponsi, author of a recent and successful book, has been offered a huge promotional tour in Asia and can't combine it with his ITC participation. Raghee on her part has personal and unexpected commitments.

They are both very sorry for this last minute withdrawal and present all ITC attendees their genuine apologies.

You can all be sure FXstreet.com is already doing all the best to find other quality speakers to substitute Raghee and Ed. We are already talking with some internationally renowned speakers and we will of course announce you their names as soon as their participation can be confirmed.

Also remember that our other guest speakers are very good and renowned experts: Rob Booker, Nicole Elliott, Andrew Hard Tony Juste,Wayne McDonell and Ron Schelling!

Once again, I would like to present all our apologies for these last minute cancellations. This event will be a great event, no doubt! Thank you very much for trusting in Fxstreet.com, we will do the impossible to not disappoint you.

Saxo Bank sends a representative to ITC 2007

Hi everybody,

Guillermo Galey, manager of the Institutional Desk Spain of SAxo Bank A/S has registered to attend the International Traders Conference Barcelona 2007

Saxo Bank is the second FX brokerage firm after FX Solutions sending a representative to FXstreet's ITC. We consider this a very important contribution to the success of the event as our attendants will be able to speak to FX broker's representatives face-to-face going much further than in any conversation you can have in a tipical FX Show with a sales representative at the broker's booth.

With Guillermo we have toped 38 paid members so far, so we are just two members behind our goal of at least having 40 attendants.

At this time, the country's race in the ITC is leaded by the UK with 9 representatives, Spain with 6 and the US and Portugal with 3.

UK: 9
SPAIN: 6
USA: 3
Portugal: 3
The Netherlands: 2
Germany: 2
Norway: 2
Austria: 2
Cyprus: 2
Luxembourg: 2
Belgium: 2
Australia: 1
Finland: 1
Greece: 1
TOTAL: 38

Let´s see if we reach the magic 40 number soon!

33 paid members from 15 countries attending FXstreet's ITC 2007 in October

Hi Everybody

Even if I´m sick today - yep, again the flu,... nothing worse than having the flu in summer... :( - I decided that I had enough of getting bored in bed and took advantage now that everybody is doing a great siesta (after lunch nap), I came on my tiptoes to the laptop to check e-mails and to share with you the latest numbers of attendants to FXstreet's International Traders Conference - also known as ITC - that I just received from Maud, ITC's manager.

The last to enroll has been a guy from Germany that made the payment today, so with him we have already 33 paid members from fifteen countries.

UK is leading this friendly competition with 6 members, closely followed by Spain with 5, third place is for Portugal with 3 and then a long list of countries with two representatives.

UK: 6
Spain: 5
Portugal: 3
USA: 2
The Netherlands: 2
Germany: 2
Norway: 2
Austria: 2
Cyprus: 2
Luxembourg: 2
Australia: 1
Austria: 1
Finland: 1
Greece: 1
Belgium: 1

We have also sent some documentation to Spanish authorities to help a guy from Pakistan to get a VISA. I hope we will make it!.

See you all in October

Btw, very hot the last few days here in Tarragona - a city a 100km away from Barcelona - where I´m spending my vacations with my family :)

Did I say 21? Well better say now 26! and soon 30

Hi Everybody,

Since my last post regarding number of paid members to attend October's ITC 2007, two guys from Luxembourg, one guy from Finland, one guy from UK and another guy from Spain have joined us, so we are now officially 26 attendants.

If we counted two guys from Portugal that are in the way to pay and two guys from Asia that needs us to send a letter to Spanish authorities in order to get a VISA for them,  we should be 30 very soon.

Under my point of  view  to get a crowd from 40 to  maximum capacity of 80 will be already a success, so  I´m very confident at this point that we will meet our goal.

See you all in Barcelona! :)
